Jyrki 69 was recently awarded for his work with UNICEF by the Junior Chamber International (JCI):
"During the JCI World Congress in Seoul, Korea, at The Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) Ceremony on November 13, 2006, Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi from Finland was awarded as a 2006 TOYP Honoree. A distinguished jury selected him from among numerous nominees in the category of “Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership". "Through his civil work and music and as the first Finnish Goodwill Ambassador to meet international standards, Linnankivi has gained visible results as a spokesman for children’s rights."

†Anniversary update†
†The Bosnian Cave of the Helsinki Vampires, the one and only (and which you find so hard to pronounce;)) is celebrating it's first year anniversary!!!† As we enter our second year, we wish to thank all of you for your dark support!!!
+hope you had a witching good Halloween! +The new single "Perfect Skin" you can listen here!!! The release will be end of this year or in January 2007 depending on the country. Aside the afore mentioned song, on the single will also be live versions of "Devils", "Christina Death" and "I Just Want to Have Something to Do" (orig. by the Ramones) recorded at the sold-out Whisky A Go-Go show in Hollywood in March 2006. Video for "Perfect Skin" was shot under the helm of Ralf Strathmann in the mid October in Hollywood.

+Jyrki was djing again at Nocturnal Models Halloween Ball in Stockholm the past weekend, on November 4th. He also spent a week fulfilling his UNICEf goodwill ambassador duties in Kenya in early October, but of corpse, he went back to Helsinki to work on the upcoming album "Angels", which will come out early 2007.
30.09.2006. Tomorrow marks the worldwide release of Zombie Love! But as it says on the publisher's website:
"All Zombie Love books have been numbered, signed and shipped to preorder customers and retail and wholesale distributors, after which there still seems to be twenty or so copies lying in the publisher's dungeon. The book will be available from cool shops for a while, but if you want to have this cult grimoire, we'd warmly advise you to hurry!

15.09.2006. Helsinki calling again - Jyrki's new post on on their official myspace's blog! He will be DJing in Bar Sinister again, tomorrow, on Saturday, the 16th of September! Quite an opportunity for the american fans to celebrate the US release of "Framed In Blood - The Very Blessed Of The 69 Eyes" CD and "Helsinki Vampires" DVD (thru Cleopatra Records), and a great news for german fans and any other who can come, because he announced another DJ visit to Germany as well!
Some excerpts from Jyrki's post: "Meanwhile: The 69 Eyes are still in the studio. The first single from the upcoming album 'Angels' will be the infamous 'Perfect Skin' and it'll be released in November thru Virgin/EMI. The single will have also 3 live tracks recorded at the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood in last March: 'Devils', 'Christina Death' and the Ramones cover 'I Just Want to Have Something To Do'. The video of 'Perfect Skin' will be directed by Ralf Strathmann and it'll be filmed in L.A. soon.
The album is coming out so fucking cool. My favourite track at the moment is 'Frankenhooker'. Or the title track 'Angels'. Or...The album will come out in January 2007. Worth waiting babies."
Zombie Love will finally be out next week, and as we already reported, Jyrki will be a guest at the Helsinki comics convention on Saturday 23rd, so anyone that will go there, be sure to say hello and give him a kiss;)

the graveyard behind the - its all Framed In Blood!
"ZOMBIE LOVE - Vampires, ghosts and The 69 Eyes", old skool goth'n'roll art and comics collection by Jyrki 69, will be published on 23rd September in limited edition of 1000 pieces. As it says on myspace of the publisher, Deggael Communications, "While Zombie Love offers an exclusive peek into the esoteric mythology of the world famous Helsinki Vampire, it is first and foremost a long-overdue retrospective of his stunning vision of comics, rock'n'roll vampires, horror and sci-fi movies - Goths, glam punks and fetish freaks in the spirit of the 80s Helsinki underground rock scene. For the first time, this album collects the gems of his graphic ART - some unpublished, some originally seen in obscure Finnish fanzines and underground comic books more than a decade ago." Collection has 64 black/white pages with hardcover in colour, and it's possible to pre-order it. "Zombie Love" is the reason why Jyrki will be a special guest at 21. On official The 69 Eyes myspace blog, besides info about publishing of his collection of comics, Jyrki 69 has announced that the new single "Perfect Skin", from the upcoming album "Angels", will come out October/November this year, with a couple of live tracks from their March sold out show at Whiskey A Go-Go, and that the track list for the album is already finished.
"Route 69" is a book of photographs that Ville Juurikkala, official photographer of the band, has taken during the two years of travelling with The 69 Eyes. His work focuses on their first American tour, and some of the photographs were presented in Club Midway in New York, 19.05. during O'Suomifest 2006. The 69 Eyes are currently preparing to enter the studio to record their next album(!!!), entitled as "ANGELS", with the producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Johnny Lee Michaels. The band will also play at a couple of festivals in the summer 2006. I had the best fuckin' time in Helsinki! I wish to greet and thank everyone I've met during my stay there, especially Claudia, Alexandra (see you on Amphi!), Dee (Ricar rules!), Tom & Corinna (lieb' euch!), Carlos, Mira and Maria (thanks for saving me the spot!), Judith, Marlene (16 HorsePower yeahh!), Arttu, Andy, Kath, Holly, Max, Kia, Mimi, Francesca, Jen, Gwen, Shelly, Andrei, bunch at the hostel, cute bartender at "Lost & Found", kind Finns, dj from On The Rocks, Alexi from the band who performed there ;), and everyone else I haven't mentioned this time...and a big apology to that cab driver (Finlandia vodka - to avoid for a while!)!
