Video for "Dead N' Gone" has arrived! Just in perfect time
for the holidays and some serious goth'n'roll debauchery!

 

Here's what Jyrki had to say about the video:
"Dead N' Gone is the album's dark pop song.

Dark because it's a break-up song and this was the guide line also for the video

and its storyline. As we were writing the song I had the Madden brothers (from Good
Charlotte) in mind for the backing vocals in the chorus, since we've been friends for a
couple of years and it's been in talks to do something like this together one day.
Benji Madden came to the studio while we were recording in L.A. and sang all these
amazing harmonies on one beautiful Sunday afternoon. As he's part of the song as well,
it's natural to have him in the video too - cameos are always cool!
As The 69 Eyes started their US tour from San Francisco, I came in to an idea that why not
to have the beautiful SF as a background for the video!? I don't remember any video
actually filmed in San Francisco! Since making videos with Bam Margera and his team
is always so much fun, it was also very natural to have him on board again - this time
we just moved the long weekend party activities to Haight Ashbury!
The 69 Eyes are the SF vampires here, hippies watch out!
Dark, beautiful song, beautiful city, beautiful couple - this is The 69 Eyes as romantic
yet gloomy as you can get!"
Bam, who was once again behind the helm of The 69 Eyes video, said the following:
"I couldnt be more happy with this new vid, usually I direct but this time
I was in it as well. With a friend of mine from SF who looks like Angelina Jolie
and Megan Fox but better. With the mixture of her georgeous looks and beauty shots
all around SF it was an all win situation! Benji Madden made a cameo as well,
which gives it the final touch of a kick ass video!"

The 69 Eyes are featured on the "Saw VI" soundtrack!
The latest installment of the torture horror film series
offers on its OST works by such bands as Type O Negative,
Lacuna Coil, Chimaira, Nitzer Ebb, and of course,
our very own The 69 Eyes with "We Own The Night"
as one of the bonus tracks (digital download)! Amazing!

Jyrki was on CNN's Backstory on Devil's Night!
It was so fun to watch - for all those of you who didn't get a chance
to do that, please, be our guest!^^



Some of the stills for the new video "Dead N' Gone"
are available on Bam Margera's site! Judging from the looks of it,
Bam has the leading role and the story seems to be revolving
around some kind of a relationship that goes wrong?
In any case, Benji Madden from Good Charlotte also appears
in the video (he also sings the chorus), and we hope to
be able to see the final product very soon!

earlier this month! Boys had a lot of fun on the shoot that also
has some live footage in it - can't wait to see the end result!

Even though The 69 Eyes are currently across the ocean from BiH,
Bosnia will have its own taste of them this Halloween!

After today's performance at Harry B James, they will also do
a special show at Bandit Radio tomorrow, after which the band will have
a signing session at Inkbash Tattoo Festival by the Record Hunter stand
from 16:00 - 18:00!
That's not all - "Back In Blood" Release Party will be held at Rocks

Special show by our favourite vampires has just been announced!
The 69 Eyes have been confirmed as special guests to Buckcherry
at their exclusive Kerrang! Awards Show performance on 30th July
at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town, London.
 

"This is gonna be a show not to be missed by any fucking chance!", says Jyrki69.
"Your favourite Helsinki Vampires gonna make you blled, just to then get lit up
by Buck-Fuckin'-cherry, man!!! This night IS devoted to sex, blood and rock'n'roll!!!"

In preparation for the new album, the Eyes have also announced an exclusive
pre-listening party at the Intrepid Fox in London's West End straight after the show.
Jyrki and his partner in crime Jussi 69 will be making a personal appearance and
of corpse a DJ set which will include songs from "Back in Blood", giving fans
a chance to hear the new tracks for the first time up front of the album's
August 31st release.

Prepare for a bloodbath, UK vampires! For all of you who
couldn't attend the one in New York, here's a special report + gallery
on Piercing Metal!

Two pre-listening parties announced for the new album "Back In Blood"!
First one will be happening in New York on June 12th - while the album spins in full,
the band will be mingling with the fans, signing autographs and taking photos!
This is of corpse just the right pre-taste for the North American release of the album
on September 15th via The End Records.
Jussi 69 will be DJing for the night, so don't forget - next Friday, from 6 to 9 pm,
the Arrow in the East Village, NYC!
 

Second one is scheduled for the infamous Wild At Heart in Berlin!
On June 28th, "Back In Blood" will be rocking the scene of the crime
from 8 pm with DJ Glampire Tom and special guest Jussi 69!

BLOOD IS THE NEW BLACK!


 

Sharpen your fangs, The Helsinki Vampires are back. And this time, they’re "Back In Blood".

The 69 Eyes return with their ninth studio album, which has been hailed a latter-day
‘Appetite For Destruction’. With blood on their hands and AC/DC on their stereo,
the bloodsuckers have combined their past to focus on the future. Turning their back
on the comic book glam of "Angels", The Eyes have opened a heavier chapter
in their musical career. For the first time this decade, honorary sixth vampire
Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the batcave
and Matt Hyde (Slayer/Monster Magnet) has been invited over the threshold.
 

"He's cleaned the table and dusted the skeletons!",Jyrki 69 laughs.
"It's like when Rick Rubin helped The Cult discover them on 'Electric' -
we made a similar spiritual journey with Matt."
 

The first single will be the tongue-in-cheek ‘Dead Girls Are Easy’ – a nasty power anthem
for sleazy pin-ups complete with a sing-a-long chorus aimed at those online chicks
with the looks that kill! The video has been directed by MTV superstar
and close friend Bam Margera and the artwork has been designed by Estevan Oriol,
whose work has graced countless covers from Cypress Hill
to The Transplants and Snoop Dogg.

Like the song titles refer, the album is heavily influenced by horror movies
and when it comes to the Helsinki Vampires, naturally by the realm of the undead.
”Goth’n’Roll, Vampire Rock, it’s all the same – on this album blood is the new black!”,
as Jyrki puts it.

"Back In Blood" will be out on August 28th in Europe (without Finland) via Nuclear Blast,
which is their new label representative in Mainland Europe, UK and Ireland,
The End Records in North America and AmpHead Music Australia.
EMI Finland is still the main bell tower in Helsinki and operates with all the new partners
as well as with the EMI affiliates in Latin America and South East Asia.
The album will come out in two versions: simple and box set edition.
 

This is the album they've been planning all their lives. And this is the album the world
has been waiting for them. If you want blood, you've got it, fellow vampires!

The 69 Eyes team up with Nuclear Blast for their new album!
 

Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce the signing of Finnish
Goth ´n´ Roll legends The 69 Eyes! The “Eyes” have reached the top
of an entire genre by now and can surely be seen as the inventors of vampire
inspired music also as they made it so successfully popular throughout the 1990s up till now.

As reported on the Nuclear Blast website, the new album will see
the dark of night on August 28th, and here's what Jyrki 69 had to say about this
unholy collaboration:
 

"The situation for The 69 Eyes was great because so many labels showed interest
in working with us. We were very happy how Nuclear Blast
worked our "Goth'N'Roll" box set and it is overwhelming to start this next chapter
for The 69 Eyes by releasing our new studio album through Nuclear Blast!

After being awarded twice as the best TV series in its category
at two different annual award shows in Finland, "Operation Earth",
environmental reality TV show in which Jyrki69 and Jussi69 had the
"Pirates of the Baltic Sea" campaign,
is now nominated for the international Rose d'Or award!

Rose d'Or Festival is held annually in Lucerne, Switzerland,
each year rewarding best TV entertainment from
more than 2000 producers and broadcasters, internationally.
Nelonen's show is competing in the new "multi platform" category.

Line up change on the Hellhounds fest!
Scream Silence has cancelled their participation on the fest,
and due to short notice and great production difficulties, the organizer
had no other choice but the cut down the package and cancel Novembre
on this tour. Vain Productions regret it had to come to this decision,
but announce the bands who are playing the fest will have longer sets!

So the line up for the Hellhounds fest will be:

TIAMAT + THE 69 EYES + AVA INFERI

Asrai will join the fest on 28th February at the Boerderij in Zoetermeer, Netherlands!

Operation Earth (Operatioo Maa) took home the award
for best music/ event programme at the 27th annual Venla awards in Finland!
This Finnish tv Emmy Awards is broadcasted on several TV stations in this country,
and honours achievements in Finnish TV broadcasting.
Jussi and Jyrki were there to collect the award!

The 69 Eyes has started recording their new, ninth studio album
with none other than Matt Hyde - Grammy awarded producer
who's behind works from Slayer, Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu.
The still unnamed album will be recorded in both Helsinki and Los Angeles,
and is due September 2009, while the video and single might come earlier this summer.
 

According to bravewords.com, the idea of collaborating with Matt
on the next record came rather accidentally to the Eyes.
"We used Slayer's God Hates Us All for long to wake us up before the shows
on tour back then, I guess that's where the name Matt Hyde came into our mind.
It'll be very interesting to work with him. We have so good material
at the moment!", says drummer Jussi69.

The 69 Eyes will have a break from recording in February/March (check tour),
and in the meantime, prepare for a hellish summer, fellow vampires!
